This is my last daily isolation blog post. Shelly and I went to Ropewalk Restaurant in Ocean City this afternoon, so I am not isolating anymore. It's been fun jotting down my thoughts and activities for 11 weeks. Now it's on to our new normal.
I attended the Hero Dogs Board of Directors meeting via Zoom this morning. It was nice interacting with people, even if it was online.
We spent two hours on the beach today. It was a beautiful day as you can see from the picture and video.
Shelly and I watched the movie The Way Back starring Ben Affleck. Back in high school, Jack Cunningham (Affleck) had everything going for him. A basketball phenom, he could have punched his ticket to college or even the pros, but instead he chose to walk away from the game, forfeiting his future. Jack's glory days are long gone, but as it turns out, not forgotten. Years later, he gets the chance to take back his life when he is asked to coach the struggling basketball team at his alma mater. Jack reluctantly accepts, and as the boys start to come together as a team and win, he may get his last shot at redemption. A decent movie, but the movie Hoosiers was a much better high school basketball movie. 6.5 out of 10 stars.
I listened in on a Zoom concert by Spencer Bates, a pianist/singer/songwriter and son of friend and former work colleague Ruthann Bates. Spencer performs at the Georgetown Piano Bar on weekends, and plays just about anything, especially Elton John and Billy Joel. It was a nice concert and break from my usual isolation routine.
Here's a throwback photo from 2014 of Shelly and me at a fort overlooking the Taj Mahal in India.
And in closing, George Harrison performing "My Sweet Lord."
